Ever wondered what would happen if you crossed the summer staple of Pimm’s with a delicious fresh strawberry infused bottle of Gin?

Well, look no further…

Like many happy accidents Summer Cup was born in our search for something completely different – our hunt for the perfect pink gin.

We knew we would only ever make a pink gin with local & ideally seasonal ingredients, which led us just up the road to the famous Lathcoats farm in Galleywood. After one hot summers day of picking berries, we settled on a delicious mix of strawberries, cherries & raspberries!

However, on mixing up the first batch we realised the price was almost impossible to make work, so we settled on a pink gin twist. We lowered the ABV to make it all the smoother & more ‘session-able’ and upon tasting the berry infused gin, also decided it needed a kick…

After a visit to the local green grocers we settled on a blend of herbs & orange peel to give the gin more depth and after ‘chucking’ this in we realised we’d stumbled upon the long held tradition of creating a ‘Summer Cup’ (a gin with an evolving blend of local berries, herbs and spices). Essentially we’d created a fresh, delicious and most importantly local, version of the famous ‘Pimm’s.

What a happy accident!

What's in the bottle?:

- Our Summer cup combines locally grown & hand-picked strawberries, raspberries & cherries which are then 'centrifuged' to extract clarified juice/pureé from them, whilst also wasting almost no fruit.

- We then combine this pure, local, fruit juice with orange peel and a number of herbs such as basil & chamomile, this mixture is left for a day to extract maximum flavour.

- This blend of fruit and herbs is mixed into a classic gin recipe where everything is brought together with just a touch of sugar & vanilla.

Drink this beautiful mixture with your choice of mixer, just make sure you drink it long, with plenty of ice, on a hot evening with good friends.
