It’s blood orange limoncello…. Need we say more?

Ever wondered why ‘big brand’ Blood orange product tend to be a neon orange colour rather than the same beautiful hue of a real blood orange?

Well - we wondered that as well - so this January we ordered over 160kg of fresh Italian ‘Moro’ blood oranges (from Sicily, if you were wondering) initially these oranges were destined for our ‘Fresh Blood Orange Gin’ however, in the process of hand peeling & juicing the oranges we realised there was something EVEN TASTIER we could make..

This ‘Rosso-Cello’ is made to the same process as an authentic limoncello, the blood oranges zests were soaked in British neutral spirit for 2 weeks, while the whole oranges were hand juiced.

After this we blended the fresh juice of the oranges with the orange infused alcohol and simply balanced it with locally grown sage distillate, sugar and a pinch of citric acid for balance.

That’s it. No preservatives. No E numbers. No neon food colourings.

Just 7 blood oranges. Per bottle.

Distillation Method & Notes

- Hand peeled & juiced blood orange (c.2 week maceration in alcohol)

- Distilled Local Sage (vacuum distillation 20-40 celsius)

- Sicilian Blood Oranges: Moro Variety (Peel & Juice)

- Distilled Local Sage

- Sugar

- Citric Acid

- Deionised Water
